Collier trio sur cordon long : améthyste facettée, obsidienne noire facettée et amazonite facettée

Trio necklace on a long cord: faceted amethyst, faceted black obsidian and faceted amazonite

Create a piece of jewelry with faceted amethyst, black obsidian, and amazonite beads. The chosen backing is an ecru waxed cotton cord. The design includes 3 beads.

Level: accessible with basic stringing skills · Estimated time: 45 minutes · Result: one piece.

What you need

The main reference for this creation: Faceted Bead Strand - Amethyst (4 mm). The quantities indicated correspond to the jewelry, not to the entire strand or lot sold.

Tools

Fine scissors, a ruler, a bead mat, and adhesive tape to secure the threads.

Before you start

The quantities describe the presented design exactly. Check the size on a temporary stringing before finishing. If you change the number of beads, you are creating a different design from the one on the cover.

Test each reference on the held thread: the outer diameter of a bead does not indicate the size of its hole. Prepare the components on a bead mat and follow the instructions for the threads and finishes. The supplies without a link must be gathered separately.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Prepare the components

Try each type of bead on the single cord. Avoid stiffening the entire tip with glue not intended for this thread.

2. String the center

Follow this order: 1 faceted amethyst bead → 1 faceted black obsidian bead → 1 faceted amazonite bead. Center the stones, then tie the cord close to each end of the group.

3. Form the necklace

Lay the necklace in an oval. The target closed length is approximately 65 cm. Cross the two ends at the back while leaving enough reserve to widen the necklace.

4. Create the adjustment

Cross the two bearing ends. With the closure cord, make five flat knots around the crossed strands. Check the sliding. Secure only the working threads according to the cord instructions, without gluing the moving strands; tie the two bearing ends to create stops.

5. Check the opening

Open the adjustment fully: the necklace should pass over the head without pulling on the stones. Then check the worn length. Tie the two tails and cut only after this test.

The detail that makes the finish

Check the number of beads before closing: 1 faceted amethyst, 1 faceted black obsidian, 1 faceted amazonite. The knots and connections remain discreet and must not block the movement of the stones.

Your finished jewelry

Check each attachment with a gentle pull. Run a fabric over the metal parts: no point should catch. Wipe the stones with a soft cloth and keep the threads away from household products.
