Level: accessible with basic stringing skills · Estimated time: 45 minutes · Result: one piece.

What you need

The main reference for this creation: Faceted Bead Strand - Amazonite (4 mm). The quantities indicated correspond to the jewelry, not to the entire strand or batch sold.

  • 7 beads to take from the Faceted Bead Strand - Amazonite (4 mm).
  • 8 beads to take from the Faceted Bead Strand - White Moonstone (4 mm).
  • 1 m of light gray braided nylon cord, 0.4 to 0.5 mm in diameter, compatible with the drilled beads.
  • 2 cord ends with a ring, 2 4 mm jump rings, 1 lobster clasp and 1 closed ring, in silver-colored steel.
  • Glue compatible with the cord and ends, only if their instructions specify it.

Tools

Two flat-nose pliers with smooth jaws, one round-nose pliers, one metal-cutting pliers, a bead mat and a ruler. A knotting needle and two flat-nose pliers for the connections.

Before you start

The quantities describe the presented model exactly. Check the size on a temporary stringing before finishing. If you change the number of beads, you are creating a different composition from the one on the cover.

Test the passage of each reference on the cord used: the outer diameter of a bead does not give the size of its hole. Prepare the components on a bead mat and follow the instructions for the cords and ends. The supplies without a link are to be gathered separately.

Step-by-step guide

1. Prepare the cord

Check the passage in each reference. For silk, relax the cord before stringing according to its instructions. Cut 1 m to keep a knotting reserve.

2. Prepare the pattern

Arrange the stones in this order: 7 faceted amazonite beads → 8 faceted white moonstone beads. Separate the groups of stones by 1 cm of bare cord, framed by stopper knots.

3. Knot the beads

Make a first stopper knot. Thread the first bead, then make a simple knot against it by guiding it with a knotting needle. Continue in the planned order. The knots must not enter the holes.

4. Adjust the sides

Center the pattern. Measure 45 cm for the closed necklace, counting the ends and the clasp. Keep the same length of bare cord on each side. Present the ends before cutting the reserves.

5. Attach the ends

Secure each end with the appropriate end piece, following its instructions, then connect the clasp and the closed ring. Open the rings by twisting them sideways and close their edges face to face. Check the hold of each termination.

The detail that makes the finish

Check the number of beads before closing: 7 faceted amazonite, 8 faceted white moonstone. The knots and connections remain discreet and must not block the movement of the stones.

Your finished jewelry

Check each attachment with a gentle pull. Pass a fabric over the metal parts: no point should catch. Wipe the stones with a soft cloth and keep the cords away from household products.
