Share
Pair the Little Knots design with two extra aquamarine beads to make this anklet.
Level: accessible with basic assembly skills · Estimated time: 35 minutes · Yield: one piece.
What you need
The main reference for this design: Stainless Steel Findings - Little Knots. The quantities listed correspond to the jewelry piece, not the entire strand or lot sold.
- 2 beads to select from the Bead Strand - EXTRA Aquamarine (6 mm).
- 1 decorative finding: Stainless Steel Findings - Little Knots.
- 2 pieces of 8 cm flexible thread, 0.4 mm diameter, compatible with the holes, to string the two beads into wrapped loop links.
- 6 4 mm jump rings, silver-colored.
- 1 1 m waxed polyester cord, 0.5 mm diameter, and an additional 35 cm for the sliding closure.
Tools
Two flat-nose pliers with smooth tips, one round-nose pliers, one metal-appropriate cutting pliers, a bead mat, and a ruler. Scissors.
Before you start
The quantities describe the presented design exactly. Check the size on a temporary assembly before finishing. If you change the number of beads, you are creating a different composition from the one on the cover.
Test the passage of each reference on the thread held: the outer diameter of a bead does not indicate the size of its hole. Prepare the components on a bead mat and follow the instructions for the threads and endings. The supplies without a link are to be gathered separately.
Step-by-step assembly
1. Prepare the three elements
String each of the two beads into a link: pass the thread through its hole, make a wrapped loop at each end, then cut and tuck the ends. Do the same for the through-hole finding, with a thread of compatible diameter.
2. Connect the center
Arrange one stone link, the design, then the second stone link. Connect the loops with jump rings. Close the rings edge to edge.
3. Install the cords
Cut the cord into two 50 cm pieces. Tie one piece to each end of the decorative center. Present the loop around the ankle, without tightening.
4. Create the adjustment
Cross the two carrying ends. With the closure cord, make five flat knots around the crossed strands. Check the sliding. Secure only the working threads according to the cord instructions, without gluing the moving strands; tie the two carrying ends to create stops.
5. Check the passage of the foot
Open the adjustment fully before testing. Check the passage of the foot, then the freedom of movement around the ankle. Tie the two tails and trim after this test.
The detail that makes the finish
Check the number of beads before closing: 2 extra aquamarines. The knots and connections remain discreet and must not block the movement of the stones.
Your finished jewelry
Check each attachment with a gentle pull. Pass a fabric over the metal parts: no point should catch. Wipe the stones with a soft cloth and keep the threads away from household products.
