Flexible cable bracelet with eight beads: carnelian and rhodonite
Share
Create a piece of jewelry with carnelian and rhodonite beads. The chosen support is a nylon-coated multi-strand cable. The design includes 8 beads.
Level: accessible with basic stringing skills · Estimated time: 50 minutes · Result: one piece.
What you need
The main reference for this creation: Bead Strand - Carnelian (8 mm). The quantities indicated correspond to the jewelry, not to the entire strand or batch sold.
- 4 beads to take from the Bead Strand - Carnelian (8 mm).
- 4 beads to take from the Bead Strand - Rhodonite (8 mm).
- 40 cm of nylon-coated multi-strand cable, 0.30 to 0.38 mm, compatible with drilled beads.
- 1 silver-colored steel lobster clasp, 1 closed jump ring, 2 crimp tubes, and 2 matching cable protectors.
Tools
Two flat-nose pliers with smooth jaws, one round-nose pliers, one metal-cutting pliers, a bead mat, and a ruler. A crimping pliers compatible with the chosen tubes.
Before you start
The quantities describe the presented design exactly. Check the size on a temporary assembly before finishing. If you change the number of beads, you are creating a different design from the one on the cover.
Test the passage of each reference on the chosen thread: the outer diameter of a bead does not indicate the size of its hole. Prepare the components on a bead mat and follow the instructions for the threads and findings. The supplies without a link are to be gathered separately.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Measure the length
Measure the wrist and allow about 1.5 cm of ease, to be confirmed when worn. The clasp is included in this length.
2. Arrange the stones
The eight beads occupy the top of the wrist. Arrange them in this order: 4 carnelian beads → 4 rhodonite beads. The rest of the circumference is formed by the flexible cable, without chain or additional beads.
3. String the cable
Keep 10 cm of reserve at each end. String the eight beads, then distribute the two sections of bare cable equally.
4. Crimp the ends
Pass the cable through a crimp tube, around the cable protector placed in the closed ring of the clasp, then back into the tube and two beads. Keep a flexible loop. Crimp with the pliers intended for these tubes, according to their instructions. Check the hold before cutting the excess. Repeat at the other end without compressing the beads.
5. Check the movement
Try the bracelet before the final cut. The cable must form a natural curve and not bend at a sharp angle near the clasp.
The detail that makes the finish
Check the number of beads before closing: 4 carnelian, 4 rhodonite. The knots and connections remain discreet and must not block the movement of the stones.
Your finished jewelry
Check each attachment with a gentle pull. Pass a fabric over the metal parts: no point should snag. Wipe the stones with a soft cloth and keep the threads away from household products.
