Tools
Two flat-nose pliers with smooth jaws, one round-nose pliers, one metal-cutting pliers, a bead mat, and a ruler. Scissors.
Before you begin
The quantities listed correspond exactly to the design shown. Check the size on a temporary assembly before finishing. If you change the number of beads, you will create a different design from the one shown on the cover.
Test each component on the wire you have selected: the outer diameter of a bead does not indicate the size of its hole. Prepare the components on a bead mat and follow the instructions for the wires and finishes. The supplies without links must be gathered separately.
Step-by-step instructions
1. String the two stones
For each stone, thread the wire through its hole and create a crimped loop at each end. Cut each end and fold it back against the wire.
2. Prepare the charm
If the charm’s hole is open, form a two-loop link with compatible flexible wire. The design must remain visible from the front, without wire covering the image.
3. Form the pendant
Assemble a vertical line: one stone, the charm, then the second stone. Connect the loops with closed jump rings, edge to edge.
4. Attach the holder
Thread the cord through the holder’s ring and through the top loop of the decorative line. Secure with a double knot to form a small 3 cm loop. Secure the ends according to the cord’s instructions.
5. Check the finish
Check the connections and the stability of the holder. The decorative group should move freely. For the keychain, the keys are attached directly to the split ring; they do not hang from the group of stones.
The finishing touch
Check the number of beads before closing: 2 tiger’s eye beads. The knots and connections should remain discreet and not restrict the movement of the stones.
Your finished piece
Check each connection with a gentle tug. Run a piece of fabric over the metal parts: no points should catch. Wipe the stones with a soft cloth and keep the wires away from household cleaning products.
