Decorating a party table with minerals without hindering conversation
Share
On a festive table, the décor should allow guests to see each other and dishes to be passed around. Two flat-lying hearts create a low centerpiece. The offset of their dishes adds rhythm without increasing the height.
What you need
- 1 piece: Heart - Orange Selenite. Selected size: Default Title. View the reference.
- 1 piece: Heart - White Selenite. Selected size: Default Title. View the reference.
- A low tray.
- A set table.
- Two small dishes.
Prepare the space
Measure the available depth before placing the minerals. Keep their entire base inside the furniture or on the support. Compare the combined weight of the pieces with the load capacity of the furniture, then choose the point from which you wish to view the arrangement.
The setup, step by step
- Clear the surface and place the empty accessories. Check that the supports are flat and wide enough for the chosen pieces.
- Place the tray in the center, checking the space needed for the dishes.
- Place the two hearts flat in their dishes.
- Offset the dishes to create movement without adding height.
- Sit in several places to check that the décor does not obstruct the view or the service.
- Observe the result from the usual distance. Correct any overlapping contours, then check the stability of each piece one last time.
The detail that counts
Keep the two hearts away from glasses that could tip over, especially for the selenite.
Adjust the light and proportions
Start with diffused light and observe the surfaces from the main viewing point. Move an accessory slightly if its shadow or reflection hides the stone. Keep the proportions of the actually chosen pieces: a small mineral is enhanced by bringing the viewer closer or simplifying the background, without multiplying the accessories.
