Arrange a coffee table with a tray, a book, and a sculptural stone
Share
The tray frames the composition and preserves the function of the coffee table. A closed book adds a horizontal line, while the freeform lapis lazuli creates the main volume. Each element keeps its place without being stacked.
What you need
- 1 piece: Freeform - Lapis Lazuli EXTRA. Reference guide for this arrangement: Stone size: 14.5 x 8 cm. Choose an available piece with similar proportions from the collection. Choose from the freeform collection.
- A rigid tray.
- A decorative book.
- A stable coffee table.
Choose the available piece from the collection by checking its base, dimensions, and weight. The arrangement is adjusted to the selected specimen, whose shape and shades may vary.
Prepare the space
Measure the available depth before placing the minerals. Keep their entire base inside the piece of furniture or on the support. Compare the combined weight of the pieces with the load capacity of the furniture, then choose the point from which you wish to view the composition.
The staging, step by step
- Clear the surface and place the accessories empty. Check that the supports are flat and wide enough for the chosen pieces.
- Place the book flat on one side of the tray.
- Place the freeform piece directly on the tray, next to the book and never on its cover.
- Orient the two objects parallel to each other to create an easy-to-read composition.
- Move the tray toward one corner and reserve an area for the cups.
- Observe the result from the usual distance. Correct overlapping contours, then check the stability of each piece one last time.
The detail that matters
The book is a compositional accessory, not a support intended to carry a heavy stone.
Adjust the light and proportions
Start with diffused light and observe the surfaces from the main viewpoint. Move an accessory slightly if its shadow or reflection obscures the stone. Maintain the proportions of the actually chosen pieces: a small mineral is highlighted by bringing the viewer closer or simplifying the background, without multiplying the accessories.
