Arrange an entryway console with a mineral piece, a catchall tray, and a vase
Share
An entryway console should distinguish between the objects we use and those we look at. Here, lapis lazuli brings a blue presence to one side of the console, while the catchall remains easy to reach. The vase extends the composition vertically without taking up the space needed for keys.
What you need
- 1 piece: Freeform - Lapis Lazuli EXTRA. Reference dimensions for this arrangement: Stone size: 5.5 x 10.3 cm. Choose an available piece from the collection with similar proportions. Choose from the freeform collection.
- A light-colored wooden console.
- A ceramic catchall.
- A tall vase with a dried branch.
Choose the available piece from the collection by checking its base, dimensions, and weight. The arrangement is adjusted to the selected specimen, whose shape and shades may vary.
Prepare the space
Measure the available depth before placing the minerals. Keep the entire base of each piece inside the console or on the support. Compare the combined weight of the pieces with the furniture's weight capacity, then choose the point from which you want to view the composition.
The arrangement, step by step
- Clear the surface and place the accessories empty. Check that the supports are flat and wide enough for the chosen pieces.
- Reserve the side closest to the door for the catchall, so you can easily drop your keys.
- Place the freeform piece at the other end, orienting its blue face toward the entrance.
- Position the vase behind the stone, without its branch overlapping the stone's outline.
- Leave a clear space between the catchall and the decorative duo.
- View the result from your usual viewing distance. Correct any overlapping outlines, then check the stability of each piece one last time.
The detail that matters
The catchall must remain accessible with one hand, without having to reach around the mineral.
Adjust the lighting and proportions
Start with diffused lighting and observe the surfaces from the main viewing point. Move an accessory slightly if its shadow or reflection obscures the stone. Maintain the proportions of the pieces you have actually chosen: a small mineral is highlighted by viewing it more closely or simplifying the background, not by adding more accessories.
